This policy explains what data AllChessPuzzles collects and how it is used. In short: you do not need an account, and we do not collect any personal information from you directly.

Information we collect

AllChessPuzzles has no user accounts, no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for or store your name, email address or any other personal information. Your puzzle-solving happens in your browser and is not tied to any identity.

The only data collected is anonymous, aggregated usage information through analytics, described below.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics (GA4), a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which puzzles and pages are popular. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, pages visited and time on site. This information is aggregated and does not personally identify you.

You can prevent this data collection by using your browser's cookie controls, by browsing in private/incognito mode, or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's use of data is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads, which is what keeps AllChessPuzzles free to use. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites on the Internet. This allows Google and its partners to show you ads that are more relevant to you.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown.

Third-party services

The site is hosted on Google Cloud (App Engine), which may process technical request data such as IP addresses in server logs for security and operation. We use Google AdSense for advertising and Google Analytics for usage statistics; both are governed by Google's own privacy policy. Links to our iOS app point to the Apple App Store, which has its own privacy policy. Puzzle data originates from the Lichess open database (CC0).

Children's privacy

AllChessPuzzles is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts and no direct data collection.

Your choices and rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal account to access or delete. You can control analytics cookies at any time through your browser settings or the opt-out options described above. Depending on your country, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA regarding data processed by Google as our analytics provider.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
